Well, it's here...and we're in it. The new year is officially underway. I am so here for it. After what was a very exciting, busy, and memorable 2022 holiday season, we're all likely settled back into our daily lives. Meetings have recommenced, schedules are beginning to fill, activities are picking back up. Perhaps you've begun researching and engaging in new activities, or seeking out new opportunities?
As for me, I'm rested, refocused, and am ready to go. I've gotten back into the swing of things, post hectic holiday travel. And, there are 3 top areas of focus for me in this new year.
Pursue Learning Opportunities to Further My Development
Throughout the pandemic, I was able to find online courses and even virtual conferences to further develop my skills as both a writer and a project manager. I both connected and worked with some incredible clients as a freelancer. I learned a lot about my crafts, and even more about myself during that time. Being exposed to SEO strategy and tools that can help was a game changer for me. I thought about my writing and overall digital strategy differently. My pursuit of a professional pivot drove my desire to grow. And, I've realized and appreciated the need to continue to learn. I'll be on the lookout for additional conferences where I can continue to develop and grow professionally. Seeking out growth opportunities has been the biggest professional unlock for me.
Explore New Trails: Time for Travel
While I've been able to make my way back out and about in the last year or two, I'm hoping that I'll be able to visit a few more places in 2023. Sure, I'll visit my usual haunts, though I'm planning to travel to at least two more cities this year. There's so many great sights in the U.S., and I'm ready to get back out there. Life is too short to remain stagnant, and I want to see more and do more. Eventually, I'll be back out traveling internationally.
Continue to Express Gratitude for How Far I've Come
I've just recently begun a new decade, and have been reflecting on my life's journey so far. Gratitude is so important, and I am really leaning into reflection on how far I've come and focused on how much I've yet to accomplish. And, while there's more that I'm hoping to experience, I want to continue to spend time being present and enjoying where I am. So, whether that's in my weekly workout class with friends, taking midday walks, trying new recipes and more, I'm looking forward to truly living every experience.
This year I hope that you've settled into and found something(s) to focus on in this new year. Resolutions are a route some choose. However, I truly believe that there is power in (re)defining your focus. Take it one step at a time. Be boldly and authentically you.
